EDI is about you, me and us.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) has become a buzzword in recent times. There is a drive for EDI within the workplace and wider practices. Putting it simply, it’s about empowering people by respecting and appreciating what makes people different, and ensuring people truly value their differences. This allows us all to embrace and also to celebrate the rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual and place positive value on diversity in the community and in the workforce. The power of diversity can only be unleashed and its benefits reaped when we recognise these differences and learn to respect and value each individual irrelevant of their background.
It can often mean a shift in an organisation’s mind-set and culture and has visible effects, such as participation in meetings, how offices are physically organised, or access to particular facilities or information. Evidence shows that when people feel valued, they function at full capacity and feel part of the organisation’s mission. This shift in culture creates higher performing organisations where motivation and morale soar.
In organisations this can surface in different ways from day one, during the recruitment and selection progress, to day to day in the workplace. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion can also manifest with people and organisation we work with, with more organisations increasing ‘supplier diversity programmes’ as part of their procurement process.
We offer services such as market and internal research, programme development, advice, training, stakeholder engagement, and marketing in the area of diversity and inclusion. We are here to help organisations and governments step towards creating more opportunities and build more inclusive and diverse futures. We are acting, we are leading, and we will drive change.
